Welcome to the ICEBRG blog, where you can find the latest news and information on what we’re working on and what we’re excited about. To start things off, we wanted to provide a brief introduction of who we are and why we do what we do.

Josh Carlson and I left Microsoft in 2014 for a simple reason — to build new capabilities that would have a meaningful impact on enterprise security. When we left, we sought to recapture the mission-focused culture we appreciated at the Department of Defense (DoD) and combine it with a dedicated focus on clients  and applied research and development. Bringing a mission-focus to our early work at ICEBRG meant getting out and working directly with our clients — focusing primarily on consulting and research. This was great for us as we invested significant time into understanding their pain points while focusing our research and development on building better network security technology to empower their teams. We took the opportunity to ship early releases of our product and engage directly with clients to pilot and provide feedback on new features and capabilities. Client feedback has always been an integral part of our journey, leading to some great wins and rapid product improvement.

As the team has grown from two to almost forty, we’ve been able to accomplish a lot of our early business and technology goals. We’ve successfully routed advanced attacks against our clients, and built capabilities that we believe will impact the future of network security and analytics. We have deployments on five continents and have worked hard to build a global perspective. We’re excited to build on our experience as a foundation for continuing to protect and serve our clients.

The business of attack and defense changes constantly. This blog will serve as a place for our team to share current threat research and provide perspectives on innovations in network security, security analytics, big data, security engineering, and security architecture.

Thanks for stopping by.
